did you know the adjective for weasels is Musteline (as all weasel family are Mustelids... including ferrets ermine mink stoats martens and OTTERS)... hence The Reverend's "musteline features"
No, I did not. That is a super cool word! Don't forget pine martens, fisher cats, and wolverines. They all live around here, but I haven't seen any yet (though I suppose that might be a good thing). I really need to figure out a way to use "musteline" in a sentence now. 😂
I'm happy that you enjoyed it. It was silly, but any poem about a mashie niblick is bound to be silly. I had to do a LOT of web crawling to find that picture. There are lots of people on EBay selling antique mashie niblicks, but of course those photos are off limits for reuse. Anyway, while Miguel was taking some time off, I was using some prompts from Miguel's book and making up others - I decided that a poem about a mashie niblick dedicated to you would be fun. 😁 I think Miguel should use "mashie niclick" as one of his prompts some time.
I'm glad you like the weasel story. I very much enjoyed writing it. My parents did indeed teach me that every critter has its place...
True - any poem about a mashie niblick has to be wonderfully silly. It’s just such a great word and you can’t read it without having a smile on your face!
I’m going to do a digest of all these mashie-niblick fragment soon. Would you mind if I borrowed that photo?
It isn't my photo. It's a "public license" document, so it's available to everyone, so of course you can use it. 😊 Just make sure you credit the original photographer, Alan Wilfahrt on Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/hot_ion_foundry/31027043983).
love thy weasel as thyself
Oh, what a nice biblical sounding moral! 😂 I'd hoped you would like that one.
the weasel story highlights the importance of apex preditors in our ecosystems. and it is also delightful 😄 <searches for weasel emoji...>
I couldn't find one on my android system, I looked. There's a boar, of all things! 🐗 Weasels are cute little critters!

I love your fables!
Thank you!
I am flattered! And I love that image with all the clubs.
The first one about the weasels is just lovely, and a very important lesson, which everyone should be taught from an early age.
