All we need is a prompt and we’re off and running! The key to all writing is: just start. And you do! Good on you. Many diverting moments in here. But I hate that Billy the Bully Oxley!
Thank you, I am enjoying it! Billy is a mash-up of Bullies of Schooldays Past. I keep imagining that his new found humility might help him learn to be less of a jerk... though it would be funny if June taught one of her dogs to follow him around and give him a little growl if he starts thinking about causing trouble - sort of like a conscience with fangs.
You might want to check out the original prompt links sometime - I am always flabbergasted by all the cool, original stories everyone can make up from the same prompt. Very neat!
Paper and Veil were my favorites out of this batch - very beautiful poem (Veil) - great start to the year Jeannine!
Thank you! It's funny when a prompt word wants to become a poem.
I find you can almost say more with a poem, as you're not bound to such "inconveniences" as grammatically correct sentences and paragraphs, etc!
Sometimes finding rhymes is difficult - do you find yourself running through the alphabet, too?
I found a Penguin Rhyming Dictionary in a local charity shop near me - its a doorstopper and filled with fantastic rhymes...Its my go-to!
That sounds handy!

Love the New Year’s party. A great example of people’s interpretations of an occurrence.
And the visiting nephew! Hehe.
I'm not a big party person, so that one took me a bit of thinking... in case you haven't guessed, I'm a lot like June. 😉
I liked the Hourglass prompt story, too - get the kid the right book and he's all set for life. 😊
