Teeny Tiny Tales #9
All the way past the Solstice and into Christmas eve. 12.18.24 through 12.24.24
is the Fiction Dealer! Almost every day he posts a prompt word, along with an assigned word limit (measured in milligrams). I started following along in October of 2024 and quickly became addicted! 😎
I've always been interested in writing, but time is a precious commodity. I found that writing these little stories to be both pleasurable and stimulating to my aging brain. I've decided to write a microfiction piece every day and post all of them here: The few I think are good, the embarrassingly silly, and the indifferent. I hope my efforts might inspire others to let their creativity out to play.
If you're interested in trying out microfiction, check out
’s Substack (link below). He's created an amazing community where you'll find a lot of wonderful stories and supportive, friendly writers.See you next week!

Microdosing - 80 mg of North Pole
To seek the North Pole, follow the Northern Lights from New Hampshire into Quebec and onwards through Canada, all the way to Ellesmere Island, then over Greenland to Kaffeklubba Island. March northwards over the shifting ice until you find the place nobody owns, where time has no meaning, with months of sunshine followed by weeks of twilight followed by months of midnight, circling in an endless cycle. But beware, the pathways homeward are treacherous, for all future footsteps lead south.

Microdosing - 100 mg of a Snowstorm

I'd finally had enough of his abuse. I donned my parka, picked up my suitcase, and headed for the door.
"What, are you nuts? Look out the window, there's a blazing blizzard out there!"
I stopped to stare at him, remembering his cruel words and gaslight games. I lifted my free hand to my cheek, still smarting from his slap. The past and present were intolerable. I put my hand to the doorknob.
"Okay, bitch, but once you leave, you can't come back."
I briefly considered the blinding snowstorm before me, and walked out into the swirling whiteness of my future.

Prompt from Miguel S.’s new book, “Micro Dosing Fiction"
Microdosing - 100 mg of a Candle
There was no prompt today, because announced the winners of his annual Microdosing Holiday Fiction Contest. Congratulations to all! Loop
The huge, oval stone worried me, the surface a little too smooth, a little too organic.
I darkened the room and used a floodlight to candle what was apparently an egg, revealing a fine network of blood vessels and an immense, shifting shape. Suddenly, the monstrous chick punched a hole in the shell, screaming a deafening "PEEP!" Then I heard the answering shriek and thunderous roar of fast approaching wings.
I hid myself as the lab's roof collapsed. I listened to the cacophonous reunion and wondered how to explain the destruction of the Madagascar Outpost Laboratory by a "mythical" roc.

Microdosing - 60 mg of Snow
Featured in The Batch of Microfiction #34! 🤗

When I awoke this morning,
I saw snow out today.
It's blocking the road
And clogs up the pathways.
But snow isn't all bad,
It's good for cold play,
Like snowshoeing and skiing,
So I guess snow's okay.
But I long for the days
Of warm sunshine and hay,
So for now you are welcome,
But please, snow, don't stay.

Microdosing - 50 mg of a Mushroom
A magic mushroom lives in a crack behind the wall. It sees lustful visitations and broken vows, tattle taling to me. I can't live with betrayal - sweet love freezes into bitter hate - my magic mushroom hungers for your blood. At last you two will meet and then we'll say goodbye.

Prompt from Miguel S.’s new book, “Micro Dosing Fiction"
Microdosing - 50 mg of a Cave
is closing shop for vacation until 2025. Until then, I'll be using prompts from his book.

The cave: Forever there, always forbidden. Papa warned that the cave was full of bats and creeping, eyeless things, but she was unafraid.
When she finally lost herself to the dark, her new friends taught her to creep without seeing, as the soft bats gamboled overhead, and she smiled.

Prompt from Miguel S.’s new book, “Micro Dosing Fiction"
Microdosing - 60 mg of an Invitation
They wait outside, waiting for an open door to allow them entry, waiting for me to speak in invitation. Like vampires, they can't invade without permission.
They swirl around my skull until, finally, I cry out, and they flood home to my brain. All is madness.
In silence, I was safe, but now my memories will torture me unto death.
Beautiful doses. 🥰 Hope you had a wonderful Xmas. 🎄
