I'm glad you enjoyed it - animals are pretty amazing! This was supposed to be a cheerful post - the presence of parasites in the larval monarch threw me for a loop. At the beginning, the story unfolding in my head assumed that all would go as expected, so when I first began snapping pictures, I'd intended to the title to be "Return of the Monarch" - hopefully, that post will come later this summer.
