I once met someone who told me that there were "polar bear people" and "lizard people," and that they tended to be attracted to opposites - she explained that she was a lizard married to a polar bear. I happen to be a polar bear married to a lizard. I think it must be the French Canadian blood... My poor hubby is miserable right now, and even I am already getting tired of winter. This one is much colder than past winters. I need snowshoes to get out to the barn without breaking a leg! I keep reminding myself that spring is coming. I planted some scarlett runner beans in the dining room to help me remember...
I'm not sure what it's like in Europe, but here in the States, the farther south one gets, the more dangerous the critters are. My mother spent a few years in Florida, tending her dying sister. At first she was excited about it being warm year round - she imagined gardening twelve months a year. But it turned out that the summers are too hot, her vegetable plants wilted. Plus there are pythons, wild pigs, alligators, poisonous insects, spiders, and snakes, and creepy flying cockroaches that loved to zoom in open windows. Up north, all those critters die during the winter... though we risk frostbite during the winter.
I think it’s probably the same, although Europe doesn’t go down that far I don’t think. I did go to Australia once when I was 13 and there were lots of dangerous critters there.
I'm allergic to cold. It's biting and bitter... always happens this time of year.

In that case I am definitely a lizard.
From Sirius, lol!

Good story, Jeannine.
Thank you. I'm still not sure what I think about it myself, but thank you for the kindness.
