Simply said with wonder and expectation. I am familiar with Yeti, Sasquatch and found a huge sculpture on Hoopa California Native Americans land. Many myths abound. Mt. Washington is cold . 44 F at summit and 85F in valley. This was in July.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sasquatches are cool! I had a lot of fun reading about them before writing this story. Mount Washington is very awesome, too. I've only been up once (by car) and yes, it is way colder on the summit than in the valley. I brought along a jacket, but I forgot gloves. Luckily the gift shop caters to the forgetful, and were selling gloves for $2 a pair - certainly not super high quality, but they kept my hands warm. And the views... If you're lucky and the clouds open up, you can see for miles and miles.

I think it was several states. From Maine often could see the white mountains. I did get some color photos of researchers that were bundled up as if they were in Antarctica. I wore shorts and was freezing with the wind that made it colder.

I just looked it up. On a clear day one can see parts of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and even into Canada! The researchers would be prepared, some of them are on the summit 24/7 for weeks at a time. And the wind is indeed wicked. I remember seeing old trees that were super small and all twisted and gnarly because of the wind. I hope I can go again someday!

Plan on a trip. Be prepared this time. I never skied Tuckerman’s Ravine, but avalanches are common and I hear it’s a long fast trip down.

Someday, someday, but not on skis for me! 😅 It's not something I've ever tried, but at my age it's going to remain untried. Broken legs are not on my non-existent bucket list. 😁

Yes . I gave up skiing a few gosh, dozen years ago. Mammoth Mountain in Sierras or Big Bear Mountain in SoCal. Do still ice skate but not on ponds or lakes, now public tinks, round and round and once at Rockefeller Center, NYC.
